1. Release my aides from detention, Aisha Buhari tells IG
The wife of the President, Aisha Buhari , has called on the Inspector- General of Police , Mohammed Adamu , to immediately release her aides who were reportedly detained based on the orders of the Chief Security Officer to the President , Idris Kassim
Mrs Buhari stated this in a series of tweets on Friday.
Yusuf Sabiu aka Tunde, who had recently returned from another state , refused to self - isolate but forced his way to the Presidential Villa .
Mrs Buhari ’s aides were said to have forcibly removed him from the Villa but Sabiu , who is one of the most powerful aides to the President, allegedly got the CSO to arrest Aisha’s aides including her ADC , Usman Shugaba.
2. NYSC has cleared Bayelsa deputy gov over alleged certificate forgery, INEC tells tribunal
The Independent National Electoral Commission said on Friday that the National Youth Service Corps had cleared the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State , Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, of alleged forgery of his exemption certificate .
INEC lawyer, Ibrahim Bawa ( SAN), said this before the state ’s Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja.
Bawa gave this as the reason for his decision not to call any defence witness in the case .
The petitioner , Vijah Opuama, who contested the November 16 , 2019 governorship election on the platform of the Liberation Movement – a party that was later deregistered by the Independent National Electoral Commission in February this year – had asked the tribunal to disqualify Ewhrujakpo for forgery of a National Youth Service Corps exemption certificate .
He also urged the tribunal to cancel the November 16 , 2019 governorship election and order a fresh poll.

Fayose said that genuine democratic governance would only return to Nigeria after the exit of the President , Major General Muhammadu Buhari ( retd), from office.
The former governor, in a statement by his media aide, Lere Olayinka , on the June 12 Democracy Day celebration , said, “ Today , there is no democracy to celebrate and I have not stopped wondering how we got here in Nigeria . ”
The Peoples Democratic Party chieftain said, “ It was painful that the “ legacy of free, fair and transparent elections bequeathed to Nigeria by the PDP government has been destroyed with elections in the country now being held at gunpoint. ”
He decried the alleged “ open display of contempt for free, fair and transparent election” by the All Progressives Congress government , saying, “ Peace and prosperity can only be achieved when leaders earn legitimacy through the ballot” .
4. Hushpuppi faces extradition from UAE to Nigeria
Plans are underway by the International Police (INTERPOL) Nigeria to extradite Instagram celebrity Raymond Igbalodely a.k.a. Hushpuppi from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Nigeria to face alleged multiple fraud charges, The Nation learnt on Friday.
The INTERPOL is also on the trail of other accomplices in the alleged fraud who are resident in Nigeria to bring them to justice.
Commissioner of Police (CP) INTERPOL, Garba Umar disclosed these to The Nation yesterday while confirming the arrest of Igbalodely whose real name is said to be Ramoni Igbalode.
He said: “It is true that Hushpuppi was arrested by the INTERPOL. We are currently working on bringing him to Nigeria to face charges of fraud.
“Some of the offences were committed here in Nigeria and he has to answer for them. He is not alone in it; there are accomplices in the country who we are currently on their trail,” said the CP.
