1. Seven persons travelling for a funeral ceremony have died from an auto crash on the Ogidi-Abatete road in the Idemili Local Government Area of Anambra State.



Several persons on the same journey also sustained varying degrees of injuries.

The accident was caused by a tipper loaded with sand and a bus, with 19 persons on board.

It was reported that, the bus was conveying a family to a burial ceremony when they collision occurred with the tipper.




Boko Haram, today stormed Borno and attacked Soldiers at a checkpoint in Monguno.

3. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is alarmed by the reported shooting and security breaches within the precincts of the Presidential villa following a reported degenerated squabble among family members and officials of the Buhari Presidency.




This was disclosed in a statement signed by Kola Ologbondiyan, the National Publicity Secretary, the party said it was deeply worried that the protracted spat between the First Lady, Aisha Buhari, and aides of President Muhammadu Buhari has now degenerated into violent combats, raids and free use of firearms within the Presidential villa.

The party described as distressing, the report that a members of Mr. President’s family were at scene of the assault against one of President Buhari’s aides, during which the First Lady’s security details were alleged to have resorted to the use of firearms.

4. A coalition, Civil Society Groups for Good Governance (CSGGG) has condemned a video shared on social media mocking the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant-General Tukur Buratai.




The video shared on social media showed the COAS briefing State House correspondents during his recent visit to Aso Rock on the efforts of the Nigerian Army so far to put an end to the activities of terrorists and bandits in the North East and North West parts of the country.

The video was, however, edited and reactions of comical acts added, suggesting a mockery of Buratai’s comments during the briefing.

Comrade Ogakwu Dominic, the CSGGG convener, in a statement, described the video as an unpatriotic act.
